THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
        EPISODE 10
The silence in Robert's study
was broken by the sound of
a heavy ledger closing.
James stood his ground,
but his shadow looked
small against the rows
of leather-bound history.
"You think I'm a
leech," James said, his
voice trembling. "But I
love her. I just didn't
sign up to start from
zero." Robert walked to
the window, looking out
at the manicured lawn.
"Nobody starts from zero
in this house, James.
But Virginia is trying
to find out what's left
of her when the money
is gone. If you can't
help her find that,
you'll never truly own
her heart." At the diner,
Tyler finally reached across
the table, not for Barbara's
hand, but for the check.
"I'm a mechanic, B. I
know how to read a
schematic. And this
family of yours... it's
the most complicated
machine I've ever seen."
Barbara looked up, her
eyes wet. "Is it
fixable?" Tyler shrugged,
throwing a five-dollar
bill on the table. "Some
things aren't meant to
be fixed. They're meant
to be replaced. I don't
want the Towers fortune.
But I don't want to be
the secret you keep
from them, either." He
stood up, the scent of
motor oil and honesty
clinging to him. "You
tell them about me. The
real me. Or don't call
me tomorrow." As Tyler
walked out, Dorothy
watched her sister
crumble. The radical
honesty was working,
but it was stripping
them bare. Back at the
estate, Minnie found the
"New Family Rule"
notebook on the kitchen
island. She picked up
a pen and wrote a
single line: Honesty
without grace is just
cruelty. She knew that
if they didn't learn
to forgive the secrets
they were revealing,
there wouldn't be a
Towers family left to
save by the end of the
month. The premiere of
their new life was
turning into a tragedy,
and the cameras were
always rolling.
